We're thrilled to announce a landmark moment in Clearwell's growth: the acquisition of two well-loved mobility retailers, taking our showroom network from 11 to 16 locations.
This double acquisition marks a significant new chapter for Clearwell Mobility. Since our founders Duncan and Natasha Gillett opened our first showroom in Brighton back in 2004, we've built our reputation on one principle above all others: putting customers first. The two businesses we're welcoming into the Clearwell family share that same commitment. That's why we're so excited about what lies ahead.
Welcoming The Hearing & Mobility Store
Founded in 2008 by Willie McIvor, The Hearing & Mobility Store has built a strong presence across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire with four showrooms in Swindon, Wroughton, Marlborough, and Bourton-in-the-Water, supported by a central warehouse and workshop. Their 18-strong team has earned a deserved reputation for highly personalised service and excellent customer support.
Alongside a comprehensive range of mobility scooters, rise and recline chairs, wheelchairs, walking aids, and bathing equipment, the business also offers hearing and footcare services. Crucially, they are a key Motability provider, supporting over 180 customers with their scooters and powerchairs, a reflection of the deep trust customers place in their team.
Welcoming True Mobility
True Mobility was established in 2002 by husband and wife team Andy and Angie Burns, and operates from a spacious showroom in Didcot, South Oxfordshire. Despite operating from a single location, the business serves a wide geographic area and employs a team of six dedicated staff.
What sets True Mobility apart is their outstanding aftercare; something we know matters enormously to our customers. They've won the Motability Customer Service Award not once, but twice, and currently support over 175 customers through the Motability scheme. That's a track record we're proud to build on.

What this means for customers
Both businesses will continue to operate as normal, with the same friendly teams customers know and trust. Over time, we'll be investing in the digital presence of both stores and gradually introducing the Clearwell brand alongside their existing identities.
We'll also be bringing the same standards of professional assessment and customer support that have made Clearwell the largest Motability retailer in the South East. We will now be extending those values into the M4 corridor and the West Country.

These acquisitions bring our total network to 16 showrooms across Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and Oxfordshire.
