Accessibility
At EPC Wheelchairs, accessibility is central to what we do. We are committed to providing high-quality services that are inclusive, welcoming, and accessible to everyone. Below, you’ll find information on how we support access both in our showroom and online.
Our Showroom
Our showroom is located at 11–17 Kingston Road, Staines-upon-Thames, TW18 4QX (Get Directions). EPC Wheelchairs is situated inside Clearwell Mobility, with a clearly signposted, dedicated EPC Wheelchairs area.
Parking & Entrance
There are dedicated disabled parking spaces located behind the showroom. If you are driving or being dropped off, turn left from Kingston Road to access the rear car park. The disabled bays are clearly signposted, and the entrance nearest these spaces provides step-free access via a ramp and an automatic electric door, leading directly into the EPC Wheelchairs area.
Inside the Showroom
The showroom has been designed with accessibility in mind and includes:
• Wide, clear pathways suitable for wheelchair users
• An accessible toilet, with sufficient space for wheelchair users, grab rails, and built-in safety features
We make every effort to ensure that both EPC Wheelchairs and Clearwell Mobility remain fully accessible at all times. If a pathway is temporarily blocked, please let a member of our friendly team know and they will clear your route immediately and ensure continued access throughout your visit.
Public Transport Access
A bus stop is located directly outside the Clearwell Mobility / EPC Wheelchairs showroom:
Staines Police Station (Stop M)
This stop is served by the 290, 117, X442, and 438 bus routes. For further information on accessible bus travel, we recommend visiting Transport for London Accessibility or Surrey County Council Disability Travel Support.
Train Access
The showroom is approximately a 6–10 minute journey from Staines train station using pavements. According to National Rail, Staines Station offers Category A step-free access, including:
• Passenger assistance meeting points
• Lifts
• Accessible toilets
• Help points and induction loops
• A staffed ticket office with assistance available 7 days a week
For the most up-to-date travel information, please visit the National Rail Staines Train Station Website.
Planning Your Visit
If you are planning to visit EPC Wheelchairs and have concerns about accessibility or specific requirements, we would be very happy to discuss reasonable adjustments in advance. Please contact us by phone or email, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Our team is experienced in supporting disabled people and wheelchair users. We aim to work with you as an individual, ensuring your comfort and dignity at all times.
Website Accessibility
EPC Wheelchairs is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, which requires reasonable adjustments to be made for disabled users, and to working towards the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
We aim to ensure that our website is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for as many users as reasonably possible. Our ongoing accessibility measures include, but are not limited to:
• Clearly labelled alternative text for images where appropriate
• Minimal use of animations and motion
• Clean layouts and clear, readable text
To support a wider range of access needs, we also provide an optional accessibility widget, available via the blue icon in the bottom-left corner of the website. This tool allows users to apply visual and readability adjustments, including options designed to assist with colour vision deficiency, dyslexia, epilepsy, and other sensitivities.
This accessibility tool is provided as a supplementary aid and does not replace underlying accessibility best practices. While it may improve usability for some visitors, it may not fully address all accessibility needs or be compatible with all assistive technologies, browsers, or devices. Individual experiences may therefore vary.
We regularly review our website and take reasonable steps to improve accessibility where issues are identified.
We understand how frustrating and limiting an inaccessible website can be. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve our website’s accessibility, we warmly welcome your feedback. Please contact us, and we will strive to make ongoing improvements.
